Kabob Bazaar, Arlington VA - Possibly the best Persian restaurant in the DMV

TL;DR - Possibly the best Persian restaurant in the DMV.  While places like Shamshiry and Amoo's are staples within the community, this spot in Arlington is my all-time favorite due to their menu and hospitality -- it made me feel at home.  Solid 9.5/10

IMAGES IN ORDER:  Shirazi Salad, Ash e Anar, Mother's Day Package 2(Tahchin, Baghali Polo, Mahi Sorkh Shodeh, Mahiche, Kookoo Sabzi), Dizi Sangi, Ab Goosht from Dizi Sangi

A little while ago I went to Kabob Bazaar in Arlington, my favorite Persian restaurant at this moment.  It was so good, and is a must try if you want to try Persian food.

SHIRAZI SALAD:  Salad shirazi (aka Shirazi Salad) is a traditional Persian salad with main components comprised of cucumbers and tomatoes, with sometimes onions—it depends on the restaurant, but it is typically dressed with lime juice and herbs.  It was really good—8/10.

ASH E ANAR:  Ash e Anar is a traditional persian dish which is known as a pomegranate soup, with seeds, yellow peas, mint, and spices, typically with ground beef(this place had ground beef).  Ash is a term for "thick soup," and I think that it is a must try for Persian food.—9/10.

Mother's Day Package 2 (Tahchin, Baghali Polo, Mahi Sorkh Shodeh, Mahiche, Kookoo Sabzi):  Tahchin is a typically pan/pot cooked rice-saffron-yogurt dish, Baghali Polo is a type of mixed fava bean, dill, and rice dish.  Mahi Sorkh Shodeh is pan-fried tilapia;  Mahiche is a type of Persian braised lamb shank; and Kookoo Sabzi is a type of herb frittata typically made with garlic, dill, parsley, and chives, among other herbs.  I have no words for this dish; it was probably one of the most delicious things I have had in a while—10/10.

Dizi Sangi(Ab Goosht) - Dizi sangi is a traditional Persian dish comprised of lamb, potatoes, tomatoes, chickpeas, beans, herbs, and onions in a stone pot, typically mashed up into a stew, and eaten with naan bread steeped in the juice of the lamb(tileet).  It was really good, but after eating the Mother's Day Package I was kind of full so I didn't really enjoy it as much—8.5/10.

Kabob Bazaar Overall Score — 9.5/10
